iOS 13.7 lets you opt-in to the COVID-19 Exposure Notifications system without the need to download an app. System availability depends on support from your local public health authority. For more information see covid19.apple.com/contacttracing. This release also includes other bug fixes for your iPhone.

Apple releases iOS 13.1.2

There are also a small number of upgraders reporting iOS 13.1.2 bricks their iPhone. This has been seen in other iOS 13 upgrades as well with one owner, in particular, sharing his frustration/bad luck:

For the protection of our customers, Apple doesn't disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are generally available. This document lists recent releases.

Fasten your seatbelts, gentle readers, because Apple is once again frantically pushing out bug fixes for its operating systems, with updates to iOS 13.1.2, iPadOS 13.1.2, watchOS 6.0.1, and watchOS 5.3.2.

13.1 seemed to totally hose the bluetooth connection to my MFI hearing aids (Costco KS 8s). Chatting with a tech and running through hard resets of the iPhone 8 and repairing the aids temporarily helped, but now iOS 13.1.2 (and more hard resets and repairing) has restored the normal connectivity. Whew!

Apple already has another iOS 13 update, iOS 13.1.2. The company released the update to the public today. It fixes a bug that affected the progress bar for iCloud Backup, an issue with the Camera and another with the flashlight, glitches with HomePod shortcuts and more.

There were a number of issues following the release of iOS 13, some relating to battery drain, call-dropping, and ringtones not functioning properly, resulting in frequent software updates and patches. Despite the frequency of bug fix releases, the updates have introduced new issues.[48][49][50][51]

Today, Apple has seen fit to release iOS 13.1.2 and iPadOS 13.1.2. The new builds arrive a week after the company seeded iOS 13.1.1 to the general public. iOS 13.1.1 carried a plethora of bug fixes which were not addressed in iOS 13. Apple will be releasing new updates in attempts to make the platform more stable and secure. So let's dive in to see what the new beta build has in store for users and what else can we expect.

As we have previously mentioned iOS 13.1.1 fixed several bugs including the battery drainage issue and more. Apart from this, the performance improvement was also part of the mix. Now, iOS 13.1.2 and iPadOS 13.1.2 brings fixes for other bugs like Camera, iCloud Backup, Flashlight, and HomePod Shortcut bugs.

Apple released iOS 13.3.1 some three months after the previous update to deliver fixes to problems found in nine previous updates to squash bugs, and boost performance. There were no headlining new features in this dot upgrade, as new features are generally reserved for whole-number releases. If you skipped previous updates, version 13.3.1 downloaded cumulative updates from previous versions not already installed on your device.

At the time Apple said: "For the protection of our customers, Apple doesn't disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are generally available.

"This document lists recent releases," the statement added, before stressing: "Keeping your software up to date is one of the most important things you can do to maintain your Apple product's security."

Since this is a minor update, you can easily update your iPhone via OTA instead of using iTunes. As with any iOS updates, please remember to take a quick backup of your iPhone and then update to iOS 13.1.2 by tapping on Settings > General > Software Update.

Apple has also released the new iPadOS 13.1.2 today to address similar bugs for its line of iPads running iOS 13. If you recently updated your iPad to iOS 13, you may want to update it to the latest iPadOS 13.1.2

13.1.2 has been a disaster for my phone. It is now loading 500 emails at a time dating back to 2 years ago. Every time I open my mail another 500 download. When I delete another 500 download. I did the upgrade Thursday night and so far have had to delete around 20,000 old emails. Please fix asap!

My iPhone 6s automatically updated to 13.1.2 and now I cannot receive text message notifications in my car (2016 Nissan Rogue.) I have deleted the phone from the car and added it again several times, no luck. Prior to this update the car would notify that I had a message and I could get Siri to read it, now nothing. This is very annoying since I spend 3 hours a day commuting and need this feature!

Just installed 13.1.2, now playing music from phone library and experiencing short pauses every 14 to 20 seconds. Cycled power, same result. Turned off Background App Refresh (used for new Tile trackers), but no change. I rely on my iphone for music, but these hiccups in the songs make them annoying.

After installing 13.1.2 my text notifications do not show up or make a sound. Please fix this ASAP! Ugh!!! Not happy with this update at all!!!!I need my notifications when I get messages, my husband is on Hospice. This is unacceptable. Hate updates.

After installing 13.1.2 my text notifications do not show up or make a sound. Please fix this ASAP! And Bluetooth automatically turns on, I keep turning it off. Ugh!!! Not happy with this update at all!!!!

I installed (rather auto installed) iOS version 13.1.2 on my iPhone 7 and the photos are completely messed up. I can no longer add photos to albums, duplicate photos and some more features which were available in earlier version. Please fix or tell us how to revert back to earlier version!

This year in less than two weeks Apple has released iOS 13.0, 13.1, 13.1.1, and 13.1.2; iPadOS 13.1, 13.1.1, and 13.1.2; and watchOS 6.0 and 6.0.1 for the Apple Watch Series 3, Series 4, and Series 5; along with tvOS 13. 2ff7e9595c
